Kriszti and Norbi's Hungarian-English Wedding – Budapest | Aranybástya Függőkert

Kriszti and Norbi's Hungarian-English Wedding – Budapest | Aranybástya Függőkert

Kriszti and Norbi's wedding at the Aranybástya Függőkert – when bilingualism adds real value

Kriszti and Norbi's wedding was a special experience for me, both professionally and personally. As the officiant and wedding day coordinator, I was able to accompany them throughout their big day, and what's more, in both Hungarian and English, which in this case was not just an extra service, but the key to ensuring that everything ran smoothly.

They live abroad, but they said "I do" at home

The couple lives abroad, but it was important to them that their wedding take place in Hungary, in Budapest, at a truly special location. They chose the Golden Bastion Hanging Garden, which, with its unparalleled panorama and elegant atmosphere, provided the perfect setting for the celebration.

    Wedding planning without obstacles

Many people fear that distance will make organization difficult, but with the right structure and communication, this is not an obstacle at all. The arrangements were made online, in advance and in a transparent manner, so Kriszti and Norbi could be sure of every detail of their wedding even while living abroad.

Bilingual ceremony – when every guest is truly part of the experience

Both Hungarian and foreign guests were present at the wedding, so it was particularly important that everyone understood and experienced the moments of the ceremony. I conducted the civil ceremony in Hungarian and English, so that the important thoughts, vows, and instructions were delivered in both languages.

This not only gave the guests a sense of security and comfort, but also the couple: they could be sure that no one would be left out of the experience and that the ceremony would truly connect everyone present.

Church-style ceremony – with interpretation and harmony

A church-style ceremony was held before the civil ceremony. The priest conducting the ceremony spoke exclusively in English, so bilingualism played a key role here as well.

With my help, Hungarian translation and presentation took place during the ceremony, so that the Hungarian guests could understand the thoughts, prayers, and messages that were spoken. This solution did not disrupt the rhythm of the ceremony, yet made it accessible to everyone.

Wedding day coordination in two languages

On the big day, coordination also took place in Hungarian and English. Clear communication was extremely important in maintaining constant contact with service providers, the venue, and guests.

    Bilingual coordination ensured that:

everyone knew exactly what their tasks and timing were,

    there were no misunderstandings,

the programs followed each other smoothly and stress-free.

Kriszti and Norbi were able to truly enjoy their day without having to deal with organizational issues or language difficulties.

    When experience works invisibly

This wedding is a perfect example of how the experience of the ceremony leader and coordinator, as well as their Hungarian-English language skills, can add real value.

The organization, translation, and coordination going on in the background went almost unnoticed by the guests—exactly as it should be.

Kriszti and Norbi's wedding at the Aranybástya Függőkert was elegant, intimate, and international all at once—and for me, it was further confirmation that professionalism is not an extra, but a basic requirement for bilingual weddings.

If you also live abroad or are planning a wedding with international guests, and smooth, bilingual coordination is important to you, I would be happy to help with the organization, conducting the ceremony, and coordinating the wedding day.
