For me, too, as a celebrant, it is a special experience when guests of different nationalities attend a wedding and different cultures blend together..

This was also the case at Klaudia and Wassim's Hungarian-English wedding ceremony.

 



Klaudia is a Hungarian citizen and Wassim is a Lebanese citizen, so their meeting and their story together is already special.




As a ceremony officiant, my main priority is to provide an experience for both Hungarian and foreign brides and grooms and guests at bilingual international weddings that is distinctively positive for them.

Lucky "Friday the 13th"

Kori and Jón met for the first time in Budapest in 2018, in a nightclub on Friday the 13th. :-)


Since Jón lived in Gothenburg, they kept in touch online until 2019, when Kori was accepted at the University of Gothenburg and moved there.

Of course from that day on they became a couple and I was approached to perform their Hungarian-English wedding ceremony in Budapest.

Meeting in Watford

Ramóna and Dave met for the first time in England at Watford, where Dave came up to Ramóna and they started talking.


As Dave's phone was running low, he entered his phone number into Ramona's phone, but unfortunately it was wrong, so the next day Ramona went to the Apple store where Dave worked so they could meet.

When Ramona got to the front of the queue Dave was very surprised and nervous, but then they exchanged phone numbers and later planned their first date, followed of course by others.

I was approached to conduct their personalised wedding ceremony in Hungarian and English.

From rejection to love

 

At first, Ági was not happy that a guy from outside the family joined them, and she didn't like the fact that Chirs started talking in German.

 

So at first she got annoyed and replied back in English, saying that she didn't speak German.

 


Eventually they started talking and shared a lot of personal things from their lives.

 

This evening was followed by more meetings and their first real date....

The rest is history today... :-)

Ági and Chris met for the first time on 22 January 2020, even though they could have met earlier, as they worked in the same hotel.

 

That evening, the Agis were having a company party in the hotel bar and were chatting when Chris joined their table and sat next to Agi, as he said it was the only seat available.

Meeting in Turkey

Melinda and Edin first met in Side, Turkey, where they were both working as tour guides.

The working relationship turned into love, and I have been approached to perform their Hungarian-English ceremony in Budapest :-)

Dance as a common denominator

Asha and Richard met thanks to their guests and their passion for dance.

Of course, it was a long road to becoming a couple.


Asha says that both she and Richard were very shy.

It took many chance encounters, but the spark between them was undeniable.

They first met in their final year of university at a restaurant in Lebanon over a dinner with friends.


Although they enjoyed each other's company, they never thought they would meet again.
But their paths crossed again in the university library.

 


Initially neither of them wanted a relationship, as they were in their final year of university and from two different countries, but they eventually realised they really liked each other

A really sporty couple

Although Réka and Gábor both went to the University of Physical Education, they did not meet during their school years, but later, when Gábor was doing his Master's degree by correspondence and Réka was spending her last months at school.

 

The first place they met was in the university gym, and that is what they both remember, even though they never spoke a word to each other, but the first glimpse of each other left a deep impression on them both.

Their next meeting took place at a university party, where they saw each other again and were introduced.

The rest is history...:-)

Having a Hungarian-English ceremony at an international wedding has many advantages, especially if one party does not speak Hungarian or if family and friends speak English.

I had the pleasure of being a wedding coordinator and officiant for an unusual event when Evelin and Tamás approached me with their special plan. 

For Tamás' 40th birthday, his friends organised a surprise party, which of course included Evelin.

For me, their story did not begin that day in the beautiful garden of the Jardinette Kertvendéglő, but years earlier, at another wedding. They first met me on their friends' big day – they were sitting among the guests, and even then they had already made up their minds:

‘When we get married, we want her to be our officiant.’

And so it happened!

The story of Sanyi and Andi is a true modern fairy tale.

Although they lived almost next door to each other, they did not know each other for a long time—until one day, when Andi was walking her dog, as she often did. 

The dog suddenly ran happily towards someone... and that someone was Sanyi, with his own four-legged friend. 

As it turned out, the two dogs had "known" each other for a long time – only until then, Andi's foster father had always been the owner walking Andi's dog.

As a wedding officiant, it is always a special experience for me when two people's stories are captivating from the very first moment.

Dorottya and Ákos's love is just like that: inspiring, full of travels and deep emotions.
